CS&NC has a state-of-the-art injection suite and offers non-surgical treatment options for pain caused by a variety of spinal problems. These interventional spine procedures are minimally invasive and can identify and treat spine conditions that produce pain. Often, these procedures can reduce the need for surgical treatment.

All interventional spine procedures at CS&NC are performed with the assistance of state-of-the-art X-ray technology called fluoroscopy. This equipment allows the CS&NC physician to precisely place and deliver medication. A contrast dye, which is visible by X-ray imaging, is used to ensure that medication is flowing to the correct area. A local anesthetic may be injected to determine whether the area being treated is causing pain and provide valuable diagnostic information. Steroid
medication may also be injected to reduce inflammation of spinal structures such as nerve roots and facet joints.
