Nicole Crane is a member of the Asheville Women's Cycling Team, competing in dozens of triathlons, running events and cycling events each year. Unfortunately, several years ago, Nicole injured her neck while paddling in an event. Her pain was 'intolerable.’ Taking very strong pain-killers left her feeling horrible and unable to function. She tried alternatives including acupuncture, chiropractic treatments, and physical therapy, but nothing alleviated her pain.
Nicole then decided to contact CSNC. Dr. Eric Rhoton performed an Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusion of her C6-C7 vertebrae in early 2003, resulting in immediate relief of her symptoms. Nicole was back on her feet and competing in triathlons within three months of the procedure. Sometime later, Nicole experienced a lower back injury while cycling, causing a lot of pain to the point of depression.
“I had such great results from my earlier procedure that I did not hesitate to call the staff at CSNC again," Nicole said. In May 2009, Nicole underwent a Micro Lumbar Discectomy (MLD) of her T4-5 vertebrae. She has since completed several triathlons and still feels great.
"They took the time to answer the thousand and one questions I had. I'm back to competing again... Thank You!"
